Many people have low self-esteem because of the limiting beliefs that are weighing them down. Getting rid of those beliefs might be the best way to activate self-esteem and bring it to the adequate level.
Activate Self-Esteem
1. Blast the past
We all know that a big number of problems are a huge blast from the past. Our childhood. And that’s a shame we still haven’t invented a time machine or have a good friendship with Dr. Sam Beckett ( Quantum Leap any one?) to help us out. To replace neurotic parents with better ones… To replace school we went to with the greatest one without bullies and unfair teachers. And so on with the rest of the problems of the past. But we cannot live there. We have to live in the present. We should let go of the past regrets and treat that past as an experience. Past experiences made us who we are, made us stronger and taught us along the way. Regrets and sorrows only weigh us down and limit our beliefs and our self-esteem. Accept your past and move on!
2. A fragile state
We’ve all been there… In the state of fragile vulnerability. The state of uncertainty. What causes that is mostly:
a) the fear of being rejected
b) the fear of being judged and criticised
a) the fear of being rejected
b) the fear of being judged and criticised
The reality is that this is the biggest limitation for most people in the world. That fear is what stops us from talking to people we don’t know, stops us from taking the opportunities that we clearly see as beneficial, stops us from believing in ourselves. Every missed opportunity is another thorn in our self-esteem and every time our picture of ourselves becomes just a little smaller in our own eyes. You need to stop being afraid. Most people have the same fear while it is a fact that most will not reject you or judge you for taking an opportunity. Go and talk to that person that you were always afraid to talk to, say hi to your neighbour in the elevator instead of keeping the uncomfortable silence, voice your ideas during the staff meeting… Whatever you want to do that you think is right, do it so you don’t spend the remainder of the week bashing yourself for not taking the opportunity.
3.The Art Of Forgiveness And Letting Go…
You know better than me who’s responsible for your self-esteem development. Who possessed this fragile state of mind that doesn’t believe that you are a good looking, healthy, smart and good person.
So here is the complex and simple secret: we need to forgive. We need to forgive those people and ourselves. I know that’s hard and may take a while but this act of forgiveness will help to make one more step towards freedom from old believes and limiting thoughts.

Our brain works this way… It suppresses as much as it can so we can forget and move on. But some of unpleasant moments carefully packed with wrapping paper are waiting to be open as a “present” every now and then… They are stored at the warehouse of our subconscious mind. So the idea is – open up those “presents” now and accept them as they are. Go through things again for 10 mins and LET GO of the past.
4. Whirlpool Of Inspiration
Things that our parents want – are not our things to adopt. Things you expect from your children – are not what they want. What’s now in fashion is not exactly 100% good for you. Old and lame truth. Yes, but why are there so many miserable people just because they are working their tail off to fulfil someone else’s dreams instead of the ones they have deeply suppressed because someone didn’t believe that they could earn a living by doing what they love?! STOP IT! Now! Suppressing our dreams leads many of us to a bad place. We begin to numb the pain by abusing drugs, alcohol, food. Then our well known friend DEPRESSION comes along and says hello… Not so good, is it?!
Activate your self-esteem by following your dreams! Learn who you are and what you are about! Explore your interests that excite you and make you passionate. Stay in the continuous expedition of self exploring. Find your own whirlpool of inspiration! Be inspired and do what you love the most.
Shake off the heavy weight of doubts, limiting beliefs and past mistakes that were trying to form your self-esteem. You don’t need to bear them any more.
Inspired person with strong beliefs – is beautiful. It’s possible. Every journey of a 1000 miles begins with one step. I shared with you a few more… So go out there, explore and remember, you have a freedom to be yourself here and now.
